Nail question- whats the difference between overlays and a full set?

OVERLAYS ARE JUST, BASICALLY A THIN SHEET OF COLORED PLASTICS/ACRYLIC THAT U STICK ON TOP OF UR OWN NAILS, BUT A FULL SET IS THE REAL DEAL OF ';FAKE NAILS.'; WHEN U GO 2 A MANICURIST, THEY DO A WHOLE PROCESS TO DO A FULL SET...FIRST, THERY GET POWDERED ACRYLIC AND MIX IT WITH A SOLVENT AND BRUSH IT AND FORM ';NAILS ON TOP OF YOUR OWN NAILS AND THATS THE BASICS OF A ';FULL SET';. SOMETIMES, THEY DO ADD A FAKE NAIL TIP IF U PREFFER AND THEN THEY PUT THE ACRYLIC STUFF ON TOP.Nail question- whats the difference between overlays and a full set?
Overlays are anything that goes over the entire surface of the nail, and can be acrylic, gel, or wraps. A full set involves putting on artificial tips, and then applying an overlay to both your natural nail and the artificial tip. As the nail grows, more of the overlay product is added at the base of your nail, while some of the length of the artificial tip is filed down. Eventually, if you continue, you end up with the entire artificial tip growing out and being filed down, so that you have your own natural nail grown out to your desired length with an overlay over your entire natural nail.
